I’ve recently been creating climate change education resources for upper primary (potentially lower secondary) year groups. Rather than explaining what climate change is, these materials focus on encouraging children to engage in more pro-environmental behaviours. At the moment, resources consist of a digital gamebook (a choose-your-own-adventure story) that allows children to explore the potential impact of their actions, with accompanying discussion-based lessons.

These are designed to be used across 2 to 3 lessons with either small group or whole-class discussion. The gamebook can be used on PCs, and android and apple devices. More information, including the gamebook, can be found at https://gamebooksforenvironmentaleducation.wordpress.com/ These resources are NOT for profit.

The gamebook is still in the early stages of development. So any feedback on these resources would be much appreciated and would help to further improve them.

The creation of these climate change education resources is part of a research project funded by the British Academy. As part of this project I am looking for teachers who would be willing to use these materials in their classroom. This is not an intensive research study, I am simply looking for feedback from teachers and/or children who have used the gamebook.

If you, or your colleagues, are interested in using these resources in your classroom and would like access to the lesson plans, please get in touch at [email protected]

    Any feedback is very welcome.
